I didn’t bother predicting a result, because I don’t know enough to add anything (not that this stops me generally). But I will say that things look about as I had expected in both houses, though the Senate has turned out even better than I had thought. Having said that, let’s not get into the incubating poultry predictive enumeration business.
What you may not expect is that I’m a little saddened by this. I think a strong conservative voice is important in government, and it’s just a shame that the Republicans are neither conservative nor strong. I wish them well on a come-back, preferably to the great (comparatively) party they were many years ago.
