Sorry mate, only just saw your comment (really). She was conceived in August, and born (a homebirth, delivered by my own fair hands) in December She’s a little shorter than average, but not by much, and weighs about 18 pounds. Details are a titanium frame from Enigma with Easton components, and I’m proud to say I didn’t pay retail for any of them! I have swapped the seatpost for a Specialized zero layback one, which has improved my position greatly and convinced me that my previous bike is too big.

Acreage – you’ll notice how big the red is (traditionally it was actually pink, I think, which is hardly the manliest of colours for an empire on which the sun never set). Not something I take pride in, by the way, it’s just surprising how much influence such a small country had, whether for good or ill.

At the time I wrote this there was a massive flaw with updating OpenSolaris, which meant it was very easy to kill your system hard enough to require a reinstall. As far as I know that’s now fixed, so there are only two reasons not to do it now:

1. I don’t like (Open)Solaris – but if you’re comfortable with it, then it’s a good choice for you.
2. Macs already come with a pretty good OS – it might not be quite as fast as Solaris, but it’s preobably good enough for a home server.

I’m planing to build myself a little HomeServer on Solaris with ZFS… You realy don’t advise me to use solaris on a Mac Mini ? I should choose another computer ?
